MANAGER, RISK & COMPLIANCE (Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Ducks Unlimited Canada, a leading North American non-profit is looking for a Manager, Risk and Compliance who will work with stakeholders across Canada in a role responsible for all audit and risk related activities of the organization. * Develop, plan, manage and complete audit and risk-based analysis projects for the organization; including routine and non-routine financial, operational and systems audits and reviews, as well as investigations and other special projects 
* Design, develop and implement corporate risk management strategies. 
* Monitor risk and ensure effective internal control systems are in place 
* Prepare of audit reports and presentation of findings to the Board and senior management 
* Work with management to improve processes surrounding risk management, including providing management with support in risk and internal control effectiveness education and training
* Act as a resource to the organization regarding compliance issues 
* Assist external auditors in the interim and year-end audit
* Ensure the renewal and maintenance of insurance policies

* 10+ years of risk and audit management experience
* Professional accounting, internal audit or risk management designation (CPA, CIA, CRM) is required
* Strong technical knowledge and experience in risk and audit management methodologies 
* Proven ability to develop and maintain business relationships through effective communication to ensure the timely completion of audits and effectiveness of control systems across the organization
* Able to work independently and assume overall responsibility for the risk and compliance function
* Ability to travel across Canada (approx 10% of the time)
